Finnish Ski Team veteran and Tecnica racer, Tanja Poutiainen came from behind in the second run to capture the World Cup GS opener in Soelden, Austria. Her win, by .01, was her ninth career World Cup win - her 4th in GS with the others all coming in Slalom. On another note, Tecnica racer Nicole Hosp (AUT) injured her knee in the race and is out for the season.
