Tecnica Group USA is pleased to
announce that effective immediately Chris Licata becomes President of the
Tecnica Blizzard divisions of the Tecnica Group. Chris began working as an
Advisor to the brands in early November, 2010 and has progressively become more
involved in the company, its operations and leadership.
Chris
has spent nearly 20 years in the ski industry and has served as Vice President
& Director of Sales at Salomon North America and as President of
Dynastar/Lange USA. Since leaving
the ski industry in 2006, Chris has grown significantly Blake’s All Natural
Foods, a family-owned organic food manufacturer, where he will continue to oversee
the long-term strategic direction. Peter Weaver, CEO of the Tecnica Group USA said, “It has been
a very productive working relationship to have Chris involved during the past
ten months. Naming him to the Tecnica Blizzard executive position is a logical
next step for both the company and for Chris, and gives us the chance to tap
further into his leadership skills at the strategic as well as the daily
operating level. The position will expand Chris’s role at Tecnica Blizzard to
the full scope of executive and P & L responsibilities.”
Chris’s
vision for the brands is clear. “ Over the past ten months working with the US
Tecnica/Blizzard team I’ve gained a unique perspective into not only the
extraordinary potential of both brands but also the strength and passion of
every person on the Tec/Blizz team.
From a global perspective I genuinely appreciate the unique and inspiring
culture that exists within The Tecnica Group, which is a true testament to the
leadership of the Zanatta family.
I’m looking forward to working with our team and our retailer partners
as we continue to evolve our brands and products.”
This
comes at an exciting time for the brands, as Tecnica continues to introduce
valuable new technology in ski boots, and Blizzard grows rapidly in the U.S.
market through a range of products, including SKIING Magazine’s first ever Ski
of the Year, the Cochise.
